About Spike & Mike
For nearly four decades, Spike & Mike was the biggest curator of animated shorts, launching the careers of industry titans such as Pete Docter, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, Chris Miller, and Matt Groening, to name a few.
At its peak, Spike & Mike was packing theaters up and down the west coast as the largest festival celebrating exclusively shortform animation. With the addition of Spike & Mike’s Sick and Twisted, the brand went supernova.
Starting in 1990 at UC Berkeley, Spike & Mike’s Sick and Twisted introduced scores of audiences to experimental, weird, gross, and just plain unbelievable animation, creating an adult market in an industry previously dominated entirely by family content.
Without Spike & Mike, there’s no Adult Swim. No Fox Animation Domination. No South Park.
And now in 2025, with the help of a new friend, Spike & Mike (and their trusted dog, Scotty) are back to bring indie animationn to more folks than ever before!
